Subnautica how to build vehicle modification station

first things first, I was trying to do it in creative, not sure if that affects it

second, I tried virtually everywhere in the moon pool room (and outside the moon pool room to see if it was a bug that reversed the placement restrictions) I tried around the walls, along the boarding gangways, in the water, but it didn't go green (I had a PRAWN docked), can anyone tell me where the valid places are?

yeah the place it goes is the far end of the room (opposite from the door) in to the wall. when your placing it, it looks like the little terminal is allmost pressing up against the wall

I can't figure out how to place it I've tried everywhere in the room and it locks into the position it should go into but it's red. I have all of the materials and I am using a moon pool. I tried it on two separate ones and I can't figure out how to do it; maybe my game is glitched. Can anyone help?

there are 6 snap points in a moonpool, 2 on the end walls and 2 on both of the side walls, you need to be facing the wall at the right point to get it snap.

As other people have said you can only place it parallel to the ladders inside. You might already have doors or tubes placed there that are blocking you from placing the upgrade station. Here is a picture showing where you can place it. https://s33.postimg.org/g7um0m7pb/1234123111.jpg

I figured it out! As I connected my moon pool room to an already weakened base structure, I had flood everywhere and had to put reinforcement walls on the moon pool. As soon as I removed one of the reinforcement walls, it let me snap the thing there, no problem. That's probably what happened to this guy too.

I had this same problem. My moonpool had 2 doorways. And since I had the hull integrity issue, I had reinforced all open walls. The modification unit wouldn't build on reinforced walls. Once I removed the reinforcement, it built the thing just fine.
